This Privacy Policy explains how Ditecho ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the atithi mobile application (the "App") — a visitor and gate management system for residential societies and offices. By using the App you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information we collect
- Account & contact details — name, mobile phone number, email address, role (e.g. admin, resident, host, gate/security staff), and flat/unit or company details.
- Visitor records — visitor name, phone number, purpose of visit, the host/resident being visited, and check-in / check-out times.
- Photos (Camera) — the App uses your device camera to capture visitor photos and to scan QR-code passes. Photos are used only for identification within the visitor log.
- Biometric authentication — the App can use your device fingerprint or face unlock to secure sign-in. This check is performed locally on your device by the operating system; we never receive, transmit, or store your biometric data.
- Device & usage data — basic technical information (app version, device type, network state) needed to operate the service reliably.
- Camera — capture visitor photos and scan QR-code passes at the gate.
- Biometric / Fingerprint — optional local unlock to secure sign-in on your device.
- Notifications — alert hosts/residents about visitor arrivals and approval requests.
- Network — sync visitor data securely with the service.
2. How we use your information
- To register, approve, and log visitors and pre-approved passes.
- To notify hosts/residents of visitor arrivals and approval requests.
- To authenticate users and secure access to the App.
- To operate, maintain, and improve the service.
3. One-time password (OTP) / phone verification
We verify phone numbers using a one-time password (OTP) sent by SMS. The OTP is generated by our own backend and delivered to your phone through our SMS gateway provider, APITxT (apitxt.com). Your phone number is shared with APITxT only for the purpose of delivering the verification message. We do not use Google, Firebase, or any social sign-in for this.
4. Data sharing
We do not sell your personal data. Information is shared only with:
- Service providers that help us run the App (e.g. APITxT for OTP/SMS
delivery, and our hosting/backend at
vms.ditecho.com). - The society/office administration you are registered under, for visitor-management purposes.
- Authorities where required by applicable law.
5. Data storage & security
Data is stored on secured servers operated for the service. We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect it. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to safeguard your information.
6. Data retention
We retain visitor and account records for as long as needed to provide the service and to meet the record-keeping requirements of the society/office, after which data is deleted or anonymized.
7. Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us at the address below. You can also revoke camera or biometric permissions at any time in your device settings (some features may stop working as a result).
8. Children
The App is intended for use by adults managing visitor access and is not directed at children under 13.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
